Maven 2 will support transitive dependencies. What's going to happen with Deputy then?

Deputy was developed for Maven 1.x which doesn't support transitive dependencies. It is still pretty unclear how exactly Maven 2 will support transitive dependencies and if that will make Deputy a superfluous add on tool.
